FAQs
A docking station is a device that expands the connectivity of a laptop or other device by adding multiple ports through a single USB-C. While USB-C docking stations and USB-C hubs are similar in their ability to expand and connect multiple peripherals to a device, docking stations are typically larger with more ports and a higher capacity for power delivery with laptop charging. Laptop docks and MacBook docking stations are a more permanent way to expand connectivity at a desktop than a hub which is typically better for travel.
When choosing a docking station, consider the number of ports you’ll need. Decide if your device would work better with USB-C or Thunderbolt. Some docking stations with HDMI ports offer easy multi-monitor expansion and others might be better if you’re looking for something more streamlined and designed specifically as a laptop docking station.
While compatibility varies, HYPER USB-C docking stations are almost always universally compatible with any USB-C device. If you are looking for a Thunderbolt dock, make sure your device is compatible.

If you experience issues with your Thunderbolt or USB-C docking station, try the following troubleshooting steps:
- Ensure all connections are secure and properly plugged in.
- Test the hub or adapter with another compatible device to see if the same issue is encountered.
- Inspect your device’s USB-C port for debris.
